Sometimes I long for the past.
Unconditional friendship
and laughter.
Illusions of safety,
wrapped in our
imaginations
and our brothers arms.
Our pride,
We knew what we wanted.
Surrounded by Everything
We could ever need.
There was Love
in our eyes,
our handshakes,
and in the arms
around our shoulders.
I still remember those smiles
and childish jokes.
Our mothers were so insulted.
We could say anything
to each other.
NoFuckinbody
could say anything back.
We didn’t know discrimination.
We didn’t care.
We loved,
hated,
admired,
and loathed
Everyone.
Yet the World seemed so Hopeful
and Vast.
We wanted
to be a part of it.
But we could have stayed.
Right there.
Where we all knew
what Everything was.
and it didn’t matter,
It didn’t matter at All.
We had each other
We had more.
